A Policeman who was attached to Governor Nyesor Wike's covid-19 Taskforce team has gunned down his colleague, a female police officer controlling traffic at Eneka Market, Portharcout, Rivers State.
 The task force team reportedly came to chase out traders who were selling in the market on thursday amid the lockdown order in the state when the police woman was shot.
 A Twitter user who shared the photo wrote: '' A female police officer who controls traffic at Eneka Market was  shotdown by a police man who appears to be her colleague.
 The female police officer was pleading on behalf of a shoe trader who was arrested by the policeman from the taskforce team.
 ''It was reportedly said that the policeman threatened to shoot the shoe trader if he don't stop resisting arrest. As he pointed the gun the trader dodged the bullet only for it to catch his colleague, the female police officer on her head.
 '' She just finished breastfeeding her 2 year old child 30mins ago before she died. she normally leave her child with her nanny at a shop at the Eneka first market junction ...smh.

 Confirming the incident , the Rivers State Police command revealed that the female Police Officer identified as Sergent Lovender Elekwachi was shot on thursday at Eneka  Obio Akpor Local Govt. Area.
 Police Spokesman, Nnamdi Omoni, stated that the female police officer Lovender Elekwachi who hails from Ozuzu, Etche Local Govt. Area of Rivers State was shot on traffic duty by her fellow Sergeant Bitrus Isaiah attached to the operations Department of the command.
 The Taskforce Hilux Vehicle has been Impounded and the  corpse of the female police officer has been deposited in the nortuary.
 The commissioner of police, CP Joseph G. Mukan , has ordered investigations into the matter with a view to unraveling the circumstances that led to her death. He appealed for calm, pending the outcome of the investigation, promising that the interest of justice must be served in the circumstancce.
  Rivers police command in a statement noted that Osaiah who was attached to the operations department of the command has been disarmed and arrested.
 According to the communique, osaiah who was attched the Rivers State Task Force on Decongestion, is undergoing 'orderly room trial'
 Two other members of the Taskforce have been arrested and are being questioned.
 W/sgt Lovender Elekwachi until her untimely death was serving at Eneka Division and was posted to the Eneka Roundabout on traffic duties.
